Saturday night football
As I write this, the Brewers are ahead 4-1 in the 9th (over the Fillies), and the Badgers are tied in a tough hardnosed game against OSU. But that's not important right now. What is important is that every Saturday night ABC has a football game, and the well-named Todd Blackledge is one of the commentators. And there's a halftime feature where he goes to some local color feeding hole to eat gazillion-calorie meals.
Well, the aforementioned Badgers game is on ABC tonight, and being played in Madison. And the local color feeding hole chosen for Blackledge is none other than Mickie's Dairy Bar.
I lived in Madison for several years. I loved Mickie's Dairy Bar. I lived virtually across the street from it for a year (remember the Cardiac Pack, with Don Majkowski at quarterback? That year). It was frickin' awesome. We went there every weekend.
If I tried to eat like that today, I'd be completely immobile for the next 24 hours.

About that VP debate
[NOTE: all quotes are approximate.]
I didn't even try to liveblog this one. I did intend to watch, but...
I missed the beginning. When I came in, the moderator was saying "well, neither of you really answered that question, but we'll be coming back to it throughout the evening." Chuckles all around. The next question: "who or what is to blame for the current economic crisis?"
Palin blamed predatory lenders. Biden blamed Republicans. And I threw my keyboard at the tv.
[Further note: my keyboard is fine, as it is very sturdily constructed. My tv is also fine, as my sturdy keyboard is not very aerodynamic and makes a poor missile. And my aim sucks. Mostly the second thing. I, however, lament the five minutes I wasted watching that crap. I hope the rest of the debate went better, but I wasn't taking the chance.]
